I know I probably shouldn't ask, but what's a pea shuttle when it's at home?

Its the name, possibly a local name, given to the lorrys which bring the pea harvest in off hte frields to the factory for their freezing/tining/processing.
Where I lived, due to the location of the factory wehre the peas were being frozen, where the incoming road from the fields was, and a handy pub that did good beer; one could, in the summer months whilst the pea harvest was in full swing, sit in the bar, drink, and spot pea shuttles; each lorry has its own unique number printed on the side; for ease of identification when it arrives to the factory; A lorry which arrives, with a full load, under a certain time period from field to factory is worth a huge* amount more than one that has taken over this time to get htere; so they obviously speed up the lorrys that are on time at the unloading areas of the factory so they get hte most for the peas smiley - biggrinsmiley - erm no seriously... its fun... we rrote the nubmers down and everything... and you can play the time game; put down the lorry number;
E.G., 42,
And put the time you see it.... and then see how long it is before it next comes in with a second load of peas smiley - biggrin then you can try and calculate roughly wher eit must have come fromand so which field it was collectin peas from...
There relaly is very little else to do in teh countryside you know smiley - winkeye
