I can attest, from personal experience, that putting Jiff (a white kitchen cream cleanser), on a Cabernet Sauvignon stain on a white shirt - immediately or otherwise, will not have the desired effects.
That is unless of course you were considering dying the shirt black in which case this is an excellent idea. At least thats what I told the other guests sitting around the dinner table at the time!
Mind you I didn't try putting any salt on after the Jiff! ... Waiter!
