A Conversation for Sir John Soane Museum, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, UK

I went there once when I was about 16, I think, and thought it was the most amzing place - it is not like any conventional museum, as it was also a house, but it contains such an enormous collection of marvellous things, and as you say, displayed in an odd adhoc, floor to ceiling, madness.
A startling contrast to many conventional museums, but I'm sure founded on the same ideas about collecting treasures to represent the knowledge and learning of the collector, as well as some educational (albeit probaly paternalistic) intent?
A great article. Thanks
