Train of Thought
Moved house last week, I'm back on the train
Now live in the country, down a winding lane
More space for the kids, nearer their new school
It's near a national park, with a swimming pool
Moved house last week, I'm back on the train
(driving to work now too much of a pain)
It's an early start each day, but I'm up-beat
Though I never seem to get a seat
Moved house last month, I'm stuck on the train
3 hour commute? Is this the act of the sane?
The new house is much bigger, but so is the debt
Working 90 hour weeks to see the mortgage is met
Moved house last month, I'm stuck on the train
My quality of life has gone down the drain
Never see the views of the national park
(I leave before six and get back after dark)
Moved house last spring, I hate this train
My will to live is beginning to wane
Never at home, tired when I am
Don't see the kids, my marriage a sham
Moved house last spring, I hate this train
Lost a whole lot more than I had to gain
Kids now staying with their Nan
Wife's run off with the pool cleaning man
Moved house last week, I'm renting in the city
Walk to work, cloaked in self-pity
We're did it go wrong? It's a sorry tale
And the house in the country is up for sale!
