The famous city on the Mersey, home of the Beatles and Frankie Goes To Hollywood, requires only one visit to find out why people are so anxious to leave. The inner city is stewn with litter, and the "salt of the earth" scousers are inconsiderate to strangers, especially if you are perceived as a Southerner. This is a tremendous pity, because some of the architeture in the city ranges from the Grand to the simply Beautiful. It contains a world class University, at the forefront of cutting edge technology, and some of the best dance clubs around.
Liverpool is a prime example of what happens to a city when its residents stop caring. All scousers can name great "sons" of Liverpool, but none of them can name any that still live there!!
