Strangeways is no more....

Interbrew (now merged into multimational company InBev) closed down the Strangeways Brewery in January 2005. Boddingtons is still available and still comes from Manchester but is no longer brewed at Strangeways...a criminal bretrayal by the world of big buisness as usual...

Yes, Interbrew seem to be taking over the world. I even worked at one of their plant in Salmesbury near Preston for a day pouring perfectly good beer down the drain. I say perfectly good - it was Trophy Bitter.
I heard a rumour that Robinsons of Stockport were going to produce Boddys now. Anyone know?
I thought the whole idea of having a brewery next to a prison was pretty cruel. Not bad enough that you're in prison, but you have to smell beer being made without being able to have one.
