Tai Chi....non-aggresive?

The Tai Chi that I know is a far cry away from being a passive defensive martial art...just because they seem to move very slow and do pretty motions does not mean it isn't for hurting people...Most of the applications for it involve the breaking of necks and/or other limbsand of course striking to deadly "pressure points" along the meridians associated with acupuncture...... In fact Tai Chi Ch'uan is often translated as "Grand Ultimate Fist" which does not conjure images of passive defense.....not to me anyway......
Tai Chi....non-aggresive?

I can't recall who originally suggested Tai Chi as a non-aggressive martial art - but from what you say it seems that they were wrong. Perhaps it is a function of the emphasis used by the teacher concerned?
