the frikadelle is not only "used" in northern germany. all over germany you can buy frikadellen. they just have an other name. i think there are more than 100 names for it. delle, fleischklopps, stacken... every dialect have its own name for it. but at laest its everywhere the same. somebody cleaned the butchers shop, and with all the stuff they find they make the frikadelle.
