As Harry Corbett had already registered his own name as an entertainer the other famous Harry Corbett had to use a middle initial - so Harry H Corbett was created, famous as the ever tormented son in Steptoe and Son and various other comedy programmes.

Interesting but certainly not unique. An actor by the name of Michael Douglas had to change his last name to Keaton for movie work as there was already a Michael Douglas working in Hollywood at the time. So the actor who played Batman in the 1989 movie is really Michael Douglas but goes by the name of Michael Keaton. smiley - smiley

I imagine there are, and actors whose names didn't match their hollywood image. I mean there was Marion Michael Morrison (John Wayne), Archibald Leach (Cary Grant), Roy Fitzgerald (Rock Hudson) and Emmanual Goldenberg (Edward G. Robinson)just to name a few. One of my favorites is William Henry Pratt (Boris Karloff).
