A Conversation for The Royal Canadian Mounted Police
The Northwest Passage

A while back I read the book "Across the Top of the World: The Quest for the Northwest Passage" by James Delgado.

I recall the RCMP played several roles, from rescuing various doomed bands of explorers to using one of their own ships to tranverse the passage (as I recall with an Eskimo family camped on deck for part of the trip). Going from memory, we are remodelling so the books are in boxes, but its quite a story, well worth the sale price at Barnes & Noble.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
