Thanks for filling in some of the holes in the story. Internationally recognised and respected, they certainly are and the theme "always get their man" is certainly a common phrase even here in Australia. One question, I had heard that the copyright for the image of the red serged mounted police has been passed into the control of Disney? any knowledge of this?

The RCMP signed a marketing agreement with Disney. I don't know all the details but from what I understand it relieved the Mounties of the burden of policing the use of their brand.
