Shredded Wheat

Post 1

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

Ahhh! Well do I remember the madeleine-like effect of the smell of the Nabisco factory as I crossed the footbridge from the railway station. It took me straight back to the house where I was born and reminded me of shredded wheat served with hot milk.

smiley - biggrin Unfortunately I don't have a very good sense of smell, so I could never smell it.

I can say that it is a very pretty place to visit. I worked there for a few months, just as it was coming up for spring, and those avenues are very beautiful. Apparently it's even nicer in the autumn.

I had a brief experience of working near the Shredded Wheat factory for a well know copier-company ... I had to smell it everyday walking from the train station, on top of no breakfast it isn't good for the stomach!

Ha! Twas the very same company I worked for, ooh, wibble years ago, down on a road named after a steel manufacturing process.

Maybe I know you? I guess the sort of folk I worked with might have called themselves 'imagineers', in unguarded moments.
