I was fascinated to read this article having recently read "Perfume" by Patrick Suskind. This is a novel about the life of someone who (conversely) has no personal body odour whatsoever but an extremely highly developed sense of smell, growing up in 18th century Paris, and his subsequent scent related adventures.
