Nice article... I shall study it in detail if ever I travel anywhere by plane, which seems somewhat unlikely given my general dislike of travelling
Anyhow. A few bits and pieces could use straightening out:
'Standby is the process whereby seats have already been paid for, but the passenger has not shown up or is late, can be sold all over again'
...should probably be:
'Standby is the process whereby seats that have already been paid for, but for which the passenger has not shown up or is late, can be sold all over again'
...and...
'Don't worry, the burly Customs officer heading towards you will merely frisk you manually and then let you go Just hold your arms out away from your sides and wait for them to finish... and pray he doesn't spot the collection of hand-grenades you've tried smuggle in your underpants. Only joking.'

...also...
'You should now make your way to the Gate in question, bearing in mind that it may be a long way away, which is likely if it's a high number like Gate 86),'
...would be better as:
'You should now make your way to the Gate in question, bearing in mind that it may be a long way away, (which is likely if it's a high number like Gate 86),'
That's about it for now *evil grin*.
