I always wondered whether the intro to Max Jaffa, when Viv says. ("mmmm...nice Max ) is actually a reference to that great English biscuit, the Jaffa Cake.

Don't think it was the Jaffa cakes as, as far as I recall, they weren't around in the late 60's/early 70's - or if they were, they were nowhere near as high profile as they are today.
It could refer simply to the suppliers of juicy oranges - I think named after the place where they were shipped from in the Middle East - Jaffa - now known as Haifa.
