The h2g2 Poem

This is a series of poems dealing with the recent Tsunami in the Indian Ocean. Each is linked to the next in the series.

The Understanding

The sea is freedom

And Jesus was a sailor

We don't understand

Unless you are a jailor

Tsunami was the prison

That locked us in

In Sri Lanka and India

Unless we believe in

The higher goodness

And journey of the soul

Man learns only

When he sinks like a stone

Beneath the surface

And oil slick destiny

Where is the mutiny?

Travelling in a yellow submarine

What have we learned?

From aquamarine

Marina comes back

In wooden ships and logs

Standing on the isle

Lord Krishna and the dogs

The faithful ones

The karmic ones

Build a home

A family and a nation

Don't take a nap

Before you reach the station

Love is a flower

In a bowl of rice

Each grain a thousand petals

On palms where they lie.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
