As an intresting historical note the Molossians were famed for breeding huge war dogs. These dogs eventually became the basis of the Molossus breeds of dogs. These are the big dogs we see today ie: St. Bernards, Rottweilers, the various Mountain Dog breeds and the various Masstif breed.
