h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Every arch-villain needs a familiar - rather like evil wizards and witches - and Baron Greenback approached the matter from a difficult angle to the standard Bond-esque approach of a large, fluffy, white cat (or a wretched looking Sphinx in one instance). Greenback's companion is a large, fluffy, white caterpillar with a vocabulary that consists of squeals, growls and a thoroughly disconcerting giggle. Greenback strokes Nero in the absent-minded manner common to villains with pets - and also subjects it to attempted punches and squeezes that Nero usually managed to narrowly avoid with an appropriate wail of discontent and surprise.
