Apparently nothing rhymes with month, silver, orange or purple but that could just be a vicious rumour.

And cushion and fashion are the only two that end in 'shion'. Everything else is 'tion'

H'mm ...

"And cushion and fashion are the only two that end in 'shion'. Everything else is 'tion'."

Unless, of course, you count "Hushion".

Come on, Plaguesville. We all want to know. What is a "Hushion"?

By the way, I mentioned your silent word to Anna, the editor, but I'm not sure she heard me. smiley - bigeyes

Eeyore, my friend,
Are you sitting comfortably?

Ahem.
Contrary to initial appearances I'm not specialising in the art of silence, nor is it a kneeler for an attendant at a wedding. I think that you are making fun of me. I saw the posting about your reference books. But if not ... a hushion is a really valuable article of clothing in the same way that a tie is, except at the other end of the body. It is a footless sock or stocking (as any fule kno).
It cropped up a year or ten ago in Round Britain Quiz or My Word or the Richard & Judy Show, and I knew that one day ...

Speaking of "My Word" thankyou for remembering.
Yours smugly

Pointy, donÕt feel bad about being outsmarted by Plaguesville, who is wise beyond his years. And in any case, that excellent Pointy Twister on your page makes up for any shortcomings.

No, Plaguesville, IÕm not making fun of you. My reference books extend further than Cassell, but not quite as far as Hushion, which BTW seems more ÔCall My BluffÕ than ÔRichard and JudyÕ. smiley - bigeyes

You gotta watch out for those voices, PointyTwist.
As I said to Jason and the lads:
"You gotta watch out for those voices, boys."

That Pointy Twister, did he tear the ligaments snowboarding?

Eeyore,
You could be right, I remember saying to Richard:
"You gotta watch out for the voices, Richard." but after that it's just a blur.
Old beyond my years, that's my problem.

Fortunately, the Pointer Twister managed to steer across the ice and avoid the drop. The other guy wasn't so lucky and rocketed off at a good old pace.

I found out a few weeks ago that someone else went off on the same corner and broke their back, so a busted shoulder seems lucky by comparison...

And the voices have gone now. I think I was just picking up radio interference on a dental filling so I had the tooth pulled.

Didn't realise quite how dangerous the sport is, or I wouldn't have been so flippant. I mean, it looks impossible to me but obviously it isn't so I struggle for a reference point.

As for the tooth: does that mean you get a reduction on your TV licence?

I think it's only dangerous if you're not that good at it but you think you are... which was us back in March. We know better now.

And I got a discount of sorts - there was a 50p under my pillow this morning.
