Today is the anniverary of the birth of Annie Jump Cannon (1863), who devised the Harvard Spectral Classification System.
Unfortunately, at present, the EGE on Spectral Classification at A337312 doesn't even mention her name!
I've asked in Editorial Feedback that a paragraph containing this info is added. As soon as it is, please could you make an Entry for her:
1863. Birthday of the American astronomer, Annie Jump Cannon, who devised the Harvard Classification Scheme system of cataloging stars, and the mnemonic, 'Oh, Be A Fine Girl, Kiss Me'. Cannon also made major contributions to the Henry Draper Catalog of stellar spectra, adding over 230,000 stars over a 40 year career.
