This is a good article. I can only do a few comments to try to improve your work.
In absorption lines, there is a emission of light, but far less than in the continuous.
It was not "decided" that temperature was more important than absorption lines. It was _discovered_ how to measure temperature, so the absorption line system was put in order accordingly to it.
I would not say that knowing the colour one can estimate the temperature. Maybe you should add "as a rough approximation".
