Not many people know this ... but when the Titanic made its fateful maiden voyage the passengers stayed the night before in the hotel that was to become Cunard's headquarters (Cunard as in QE2). They have since moved on but there used to be a train service right in front of the hotel that led to the docks. I worked in that building and it was very spooky. Bit like The Shining. Your office had a balcony and you felt like you were working in someone's grave. Cunard have since moved to new premises and I dont know who has moved in. Great building though.

It's called South-Western house and the BBC was on the top floor. I worked there for Cunard about 14 years ago. I worked on the Cunard Arabian Middle East Line or C.A.M.E.L for short!
