I've been flying (some times competitively) for 20 years, the easiest way to launch a two line kite is to start by staking the handles / finger (wrist) straps (whichever) and unwinding an equal (EQUAL = very important that is!) length of line(s)then attach to the kite and stand it on the (trailing edge) tips of the A frame so that the kite is held by the tension on the lines but leaning backward so's angled away from the wind. Walk back to other end. Remove stake (and place in pocket)lean (or step) back from the kite to take up the tension and kite will virtually launch itself.
