Very good! I wonder if you have read/heard anything concerning Petra as the future place of refuge for the Israelites just before the re-appearing of the Messiah. There is considerable ongoing debate (especially in the USA) with respect to the thousands of Jews who will supposedly flee the armies that will descend on Jerusalem from the East just before the return of the Lord. They are thought to take shelter within Petra's steep-sided ruins.
This taking refuge in Petra by Israel may pertain to a future event but in fact, it may have already occurred (perhaps the Babylonian conquest in 586 BC).
