'Irish rockers U2 covered "Dancing Queen" when they were touring in Scandinavia - at which point, they were introduced as two of the greatest writers in pop history by Benny and Björn.'
Eh? There are four of U2, so who did Benny and Björn introduce as the two great writers? What seems more probable is that Bono might have called Benny and Björn 'two of the greatest writers in pop history' before or after singing their song. Are you sure you haven't got that bit confused?

Uh, I want to hear that cover. Better than their Unchained Melody I hope.
I actually saw Bjorn Again in concert a few years back. Good fun.

Sorry about the confusion there!
I've actually removed that bit, as I've just realised it's already mentioned earlier in the Entry.
Thanks very much!

I can certainly do without hearing that cover. Why would U2 lower themselves to cover that? Sometimes methinks Bono's wish to be all things to all men is his greatest failing.
Although of course Steve Nieve did rip off the keyboard part for the peerless Olivers Army by Elvis Costello.

That debt is acknowledged in a quote from Costello in the entry, .
for fixing that mistake, Eds. It's a great entry!

I kind of lost faith in Bono's music taste after he mentioned at an award show that he was a Destiny's Child fan. So saying ABBA is great, might not be such an endorsement from him.
Key: Complain about this post
