Lovely stone, that. Used for building long barrows upon in the Medway valley. And the White Horse Stone, of course. Don't know what people are complaining about, it is usually warm to the touch. Really nice article too, btw . Just a minor point - and geology really isn't a strong point, so I could be wrong - isn't Stonehenge bluestones? Or is that another type of sarsen. I like the pink stuff, West Kennet (near Avebury) and the Kentish megaliths.

Hi Alysdragon.
The inner stones of stonehenge are bluestones from the Preselli Mountains in Wales. The sarsens are the huge outer stones, which camew drom the Marlborough Downs in Wiltshire. A9564942
