I HAVE A GOOD FRIEND WHO LIVED IN ALPHEN AAN DEN RIJN SOME YEARS AGO AND HE COULD TELL ME ONLY NICE THINGS ABOUT THIS TOWN.
I HAVE ALSO MANY GOOD FRIENDS LIVING IN AMSTERDAM AND I VISIT AMSTERDAM EVERY YEAR! I LOVE IT.

I would love to show you some pictures of Alphen aan den Rijn, but I haven't got any.
Of course ther are private house for sell. It depends on your wallet if you can affort it.
There is some information about this village on the site of the local authorities, but that is dutch only.
Next time when you visit Holland, come by and I will give you a tour.

I also live in Alphen aan den Rijn and am very surprised to read such a positive story about "my" village. I would like to say that Alphen is a good place for young children to grow up, with a lot of living space, small parks and good sports facilities. When reaching the age of 15-16 years old, you can indeed go out in Choices, because most people there are from that age. Is that ideal for tourists to be with adolescents all dressed the same and without identity, listening to commercial r&b and house music?

The other option "Het Kasteel" is a better one. But do not forget to mention that using marihuana is very common there, and that most of the parties held in "Het Kasteel" are with doom/trash/speedmetal music, and that there are a lot people who don't like that kind of music at all. The age there is maybe a bit higher then in Choices, but I would not recommand this place to tourists for "must have seen it".

Archeon and Avifauna are nice places to visit, we have a good connection by bus from all places in the neighbourhood (Amsterdam and The Hague included).

I would advice everybody to avoid Alphen aan den Rijn when visiting Holland. There are so many beautyfull places in Holland, and Alphen aan de Rijn is not one of them.

In Het Kasteel are also house parties and duch bands that don´t play metal, but just ordinary music.
