Harry Harrison did actually co wirte one of the later Saint books "Vendetta For The Saint" written with Leslie Charteris and first published in 1965.
It quite interesting when you know this to stop the simerlarities between the two characters 
also yay! as have just recieved my copy of Stainless Steel rat joins the circus through the post.
Also the is a collection of short stories one of which is a Stainless Steel Rat one, the book is called Stainless Steel Visions.
