For perfectly "boiled" eggs try this.
Place cold eggs in enough cold water to cover them.
Heat the water to just boiling. Turn off the fire and cover the pot.
Set timer for 20 min. When time is up pour off water and cool eggs by running cold water over them. Crack and peel. When you cut into the egg there should be no gray ring around the yolk. Works for me every time. Hope it works for you.
