Whilst I was living and working in London, I was twice up for the prosecution for credit card fraud cases.
In the first instance the main line of defence was that I was racist because the criminal just happened to be black. I mean I was working in Hammersmith at the time, most of my customers were black. I cou;d hardly afford to be racist now could I.
The second case was even worse, they assumed I was being racist because the criminal had a strong Irish accent. The prosecution on return asked one question. "Where were you born?" the response caused the defence team great embarassment. "Bangor, Northern Ireland." Whoops they were using the wrong line there.
