Yes, you are right.
Yes, you are wrong.
It is perspective. Example: Punjab is firmly in Pakistan. Punjab is firmly in India. The reason? It got split. The major portion of Punjab is still in Pakistan. Similar conclusions for Ladakh. And as you know like many other nations, the Chinese were not really open to visitors in their country until a while back.
