...before I read the Terry Pratchett book, "The Wee Free Men". I thought he made it up - didn't realise it was such a widespread character in folk myths around the world!

just mucking about in Google and noticed that this is Number One International Hit about Jenny Greenteeth. Rather chuffed at that

V. interested to read that this is such a widespread myth. I thought it was a local invention in Lancashire, where my mum's family lived, and had assumed it had been invented to stop children from playing near the canal.
