Interesting. I've just browsed the web for a photo of it.

Do you have any information where people can go and see it? From what I gathered, it was in some mseum in 2006, maybe as part of a changing exhibition. Would be interesting to know where its 'home' is.

Hi Bel
The pan will be on display at the British Museum until December 2005; at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent, from January to December 2006; and at the Tullie House Museum and Gallery, Carlisle, from January to December 2007.
Then the British Museum
Is the entry any good.

It is interesting. There are a few repititions in it, and at first, I didn't know what you were referring to when you just said 'the wall', so I think you should say it's about Hadrian's Wall right from the start.

Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery also has it from time to time.

Yes, I imagine it travels a lot, but if it is part of the British Museum, then maybe a link to their homepage with further info would be a good idea?
Not sure what the others feel about this.

Well, the first one is here:
>>The bowl is enamelled in red, white, turquoise and bark blue and around the rim it has the legend,
MAIS COGGABATA VXELODVNVM CAMBOGLANNA RIGOREVALI AELI DRACONIS
Inscribed around the rim. Drop one of the 'around the rim'
I'll try to come back to this tomorrow or on Thursday, it's late now, and I'm getting tired.

Bob, could you please check your first link? It's an odd one, and completely unrelated to tghe bowl in question.
I ddon't undertsand this:
>>A small fort that was garrisoned by around auxiliary foot<<
Oh, and what I meant in my previous posts, was that I think you should put a link in the entry to the museum that is in charge of the bowl.

Hi Bob,
I must admit, that first link is a bit odd!
The entry is very interesting and should fall in nicely with your other works on the Romans in Britain.
There are just a few rough areas, which B'El has mentioned. Nothing that can't be sorted here.
lil xx
