I'm not sure if you watch the programme BigAl, but if you watch this month's, which should be repeated this Saturday 11th approx lunchtime BBC2, (apologies, I don't have a TV mag yet to verify, so check your TV listing early Saturday) they demonstrate the camera obscura effect.
I watched it last night on BBC4 (much more time-friendly for me) and I thought of you when it came on
