The last kill with a longbow

The last verified kill with a longbow in a war happened in... 1944. One of those methodically crazy maverick soldiers the British excel in producing took his longbow to war with him as a commando; shortly after D0-Day in 1944 he took out at least one hapless German with a bodkin arrow... there are also reports of crossbows - a deadly, silent weapon - being used against British soldiers in Northern Ireland in the 1980's 9looking for verification and more info on the longbow kill by a mad Scottish major)
