Sir Earlick Boggsiphon's Oratorio on St. Autoclave of Aaronsbottom's hymn of thanksgiving to the Lord for inventing shoes, part
Created | Updated Jul 12, 2004
We thank thee, Oh, LORD,
For the fellow you left out of the Old Testament,
And didn't let Jesus tell a parable about,
the wonderful, marvelous, miraculous fellow,
who was the first cobbler.
We will never know his name,
but we bless him just the same.
We thank thee, Oh, LORD,
that while Adam and Eve got breeches,
the rest of us got shoes to protect
our tootsies from the leeches.
AMEN
