Quasi-socialist groups suspended in a capitalist environment
Johann Desmera Started conversation Aug 19, 2003
What do you folks think about the idea of suspending groups that are internally quasi-socialist in a larger capitalist environment? such that the generally difficult and largely unequal interaction that is in capitalism is dealt with by a community (preferably internally self-sustaining), to help buffer it from the capitalist super-environment?
like, something that to the outside looks like a company, but whose objective is to support its "employees" and provide for their creative additions to the organization. Also, i'd keep the size of the group low, such that it is always possible to know everyone in that part, and if it grows past that point, to have it split.
And, being the engineer that i am, part of how i want to do this is technological, with a rapid-prototyping style robotic factory available for the use of people involved in the organization, a housing setup that is available (but not required), and a food supply.
Comments? rants? encouragements? people telling me why it'll never work?
