Sorry but yeast is a fungus, which is not a plant.
This jumped out on me as it's referred to as a plant on the front page too smiley - erm

So why say it? Scientists said a lot of things in the 19th century that are misleading or wrong (other things that were right). We've learned better and so should not mislead people.
As I said in editorial feedback, that's the same as saying elpephants are vegetables.

'Wild yeasts are single-celled microbes...'

For that matter they're not single celled either. Fungi are multicellular organisms. In fact as far as I'm aware, it's a fungus in the Great Barrier Reef that is considered the world's largest living organism.

I am not an expert in chemistry or biology. I read what's in the literature on a topic - and trust that it is written with some authority. If you have a problem with accuracy, make the most of PR and point out the issues with Researchers before it gets into the Guide. That's what PR is for, after all. But do it gently. It's easy to take offence when you've spend days working on an entry.
