Palm Beer
Created | Updated Jan 28, 2002
Palm is a belgian beer brewed in Steenhuffel, a small village in Belgium. It is an amber beer of moderated alcoholic content (a little above 5%). The brewery dates from 1747, so they are more than 250 years old.
Besides Speciale Palm, which is the regular Palm beer you can have in many pubs in Belgium (and in other countries, too, I've been told), they have a christmas beer, called Dobbel Palm that is on sale only from November till January. The Dobbel Palm is a kind christmas gift of the brewery: you get a slightly stronger beer at the same price.
In every pub I've been up to date, they serve Palm at cold temperatures (4 °C); this is refreshing and an ideal thirst-quencher. If you have the option, consider drinking Palm (and many other beers) that is slightly warmer (8 °C to 12 °C) because you will get much more "taste sensations".
