A Conversation for NewsRadio

TV programmers. A shower of bastards, the lot of them. Thirty years ago, Monty Python warned us all when they compared programmers to penguins, but we failed to take any notice.
I admit to quite liking NewsRadio, and it was one of the few shows that had me in honest-to-goodness fits of laughter. But after initially screening in NZ at primetime, they bumped it (like all quality viewing) up to 10.00 - 11.30, in the belief that the only people who watch quality are either insomniacs or unemployed.

Let's face it - we insomniacs have to have quality television - what else would we do?

Go on h2g2?
But I do like NewsRadio. I didn't know there were so few series of it. Thankfully they haven't all been screened over here in the UK so I'm sure looking forward to the series with Jon Lovitz - he's one of my favourite comedians. (Now, is this just me or does this posting make me sound like a frantic TV-holic? )

I love Jon Lovitz as well, but unfortunately he really didn't seem comfortable on NewsRadio........I'm just glad they made enough episodes to make it to syndication

Paramount Comedy Channel has repeated NewsRadio finally . And now it's repeating it again! All I've seen of Jon Lovitz is in one episode in a mental hospital. I guess I'm still seeing the first series (over and over again ). I wonder Paramount will ever bother to move on...

I'm sure they will eventually, now that the show is dead. But Lovitz was only on for that final season......

Well, so far Lovitz was on for one episode so I'm sure there's more to come. But I'm used to watching repeats - I do it all the time .

That's not correct. Lovitz was on a couple of times before that. I remember the episode Cynic was talking about, Bill got committed to an institution, and found he rather liked it there. Jon was one of the patients.
There's another bit I remember with Lovitz, as a jumper on the ledge (it may have been outside Dave's office) and Bill came out to interview him.
Just checking with imdb.com, these were two *different* characters to that of Max Louis.

You are absolutely correct. I meant he was only on the final season as a regular..........Incidentally, the episode where he and Bill were in the institution was later redone as a pop-up episode by the makers of VH-1's Pop-Up Video.

Thanks for forcing me to look it up:
For the last five minutes I've been chuckling away at some memorable quotes from the show:
