Shamu's a whale, and I'm not sure, but I think she might be dead.

At least a killer whale called Shamu is. 25 feet long, and five tons...

Seaworld Florida boasts an active killer whale breeding program, as well.

Oh! My apologies for the misinformation! *goes to check up on Joltin' Joe*

*retracts joke because it was in bad taste*

There's a Namu (it's Namu innit?) which is the son/daughter whale of Shamu, and I thought it had finally come to replace the original. I'm frequently wrong, though, and should have learned by now not to talk. smiley - smiley

well, might not be THE Shamu, it could be Shamu II, or III, or XXIV ...

seems to me that Shamu has been around a long time, too. but then, I dont know how long killer whales live. I found the info at the Seaworld website.

Is not SeaWorld Florida in Orlando, though? That's the only one I know of there. Orlando is some distance from Miami, requires a trip of its own unless our researchers have lots of time to spend in Florida. smiley - smiley

Precisely right... I suppose if we all decided to extend our visit for a week or two, we could hit all the lovely Orlando parks! (Emmy and I get an admission discount anyway. smiley - winkeye)
