It's always interesting to me how many confusing bios about Glenn are out there.I was fortunate to have Ray McKinley and Tex Beneke as friends and spent many an hour talking to Mac who turned me on to George Simon,Millers biographer, I myself did a Nationally syndicated Miller Show for 4 years here in the U.S.The trombone story always gets me , once the family moved to Grant City, Missouri ,he traded in the old Bone for a new one from Town Bnadleader Jack Mossberger, he paid it off by shining shoes in Mossbergers store , and playing in the town band.As far as milking the Cows to buy a Trombone ,that's just not true, after a bad prairie fire which nearly wiped out the Millers , Glenn milked the neighbors Cow for a dollar a week to help the family get back on it's feet.Trough the years I have been lucky enough to talk to many of Glenns former Bandmates and learn even more about this quiet legend.Hats off to Glenn his Music and his Legions of Fans of which I am one ..Keep em Flying.Hank
