Jonah's current ambition is to break the world record for having the noisest car sound system. He has spent over $US50,000 on his obsession so far.
His health woes continue. He is now complaining about migraine headaches.
Perhaps this has something to do with listening to loud music?

It could be the loud music Loony or perhaps they are brought on whenever he thinks about what happened in the semi final against France..............

A low blow Linus.
Jonah turned out for a 2nd division local Wellington club rugby team on Saturday.
Instead of the normal 12 people and a dog who normally watch these games, 2500 turned up.
At the end of the game the ground announcer said, "Please keep off the playing field, this is not a one-day cricket international."

I feel sorry for the poor players from the other team who had to try and tackle him. Just imagine turning up to play your normal social game still feeling a bit seedy from the night before and then finding out Jonah Lomu is playing for the other team

A few of the opposition players were interviewed on TV. The consensus was that it was "awesome" to play against Jonah. The opposing winger even managed to tackle him a couple of times. Both teams (mainly) were made up of Maoris and Pacific Islanders.
In the Wellington area Jonah is an enormous star even though he only moved there this year. He earned a lot of respect for paying his own way to South Africa when he was suspended recently. He said he wanted to support his mates.
Excellent stuff.

a nice touch, not that the money would have been a problem i suppose.
I can't believe Wellington didn't do better this year to be honest, especially after the good start they had.

They were right on track until they dropped the last two games in SA.
Jonah was suspended and a couple of others didn't go because their partners were giving birth. They also had a few injuries.
Not that any of those reasens would have stopped Kiwi rugby players of earlier times. Sheilas gave birth and men played rugby - and everything was right with the world - and we had the World Cup. Sob.

As a Pom female rugby fan, who lived in NZ for a time, I'd like to say that I admire the man (not only for his playing skills, etc) but for turning down all the lucrative offers of contracts abroad, to stay home with his friends and family. (At least that's what the press said here in the UK at the time.)
Jonah also gives the impression of being a really nice guy, judging by his t.v. interviews.
Oh, and sorry about the world cup, chaps! I know how you feel as I support Wales! (Don't laugh!)

Not the greatest fan of Jonah....great man though. I have to say he has helped (and hindered) Wellington in getting to the final of the NPC! Can you believe it??!?!?!? Can't take the high ball, but he's a good guy

celestial duck-child, welcome to the nightmare. May I be bold enough to ask if you are a Kiwi and if so, where from?
Incidently, Wellington WILL win the final under the billiant leadership of Norm Hewitt of Napier (pity about his lack of any other life skills)

Hell ( can I say that? oh well) YES! A proud WELLINGTONIAN. of sorts.
I totally agree about Wellington beating Canterbury, naturally, they've looked the better team all season really. *stops, frowns, shrugs*
Key: Complain about this post
