Hey sbe
Do you know why Picton was chosen as the final resting place? Was Picton one of the delivery points for the NZ settlers?
Were all 5 trips to NZ immigration trips? And do you know the destinations?

Hi kea,
In answer to your first question. Picton was the nearest dock to the resting place of the Edwin Fox. I'll get back to you as regards the other one.

Yeah but why that area in general, and not say England, or somewhere else in NZ? Did I miss that in the Entry?
*goes off to have another read*

I just had a read of the website you linked and found the answer . I hadn't realised that Picton was the last destination, and that the ship had been there since the 1890s.
It's a very interesting read and moving. I quite like that it is being preserved rather than restored, as the way it is now reflects all her history.

Please explain. I'm not aware of having mentioned toytown or the famous five!! If its my writing style then I would be interested to know where I came up short in your expert opinion!

Oh what a surprise! Lets leave an inflammatory post and run away. Bit like a hootoo version of ringing a doorbell and legging it!! Just as childish too!
