Fragilis - h2g2 Cured My Tabular Obsession

Conspiracy theories really don't get enough respect. Assuming they are all 100% false, they still say something about society in the same way that fairy tales used to and urban myths do to a lesser extent today.

It's nice to see one of the most classic conspiracy theories thoroughly explained and vetted here, along with a healthy warning about taking it all with a grain of salt. Once again, it's the sort of thing that h2g2 does well. While the information is available elsewhere, I haven't seen it in so compact and legible a form, much less in a respectable place.

I agree with you about conspiracy theories – sometimes the things people want to believe say more about our society than the ‘truth’ ever does… and it’s just as interesting when you see people who refuse point-blank to accept even the possibility of those alternatives; that whole attitude of accepting ‘official’ narratives verbatim.
