Went on a picnic and forgot the can opener. After a lot of discussion I was given the job of opening the can with an axe. slowly I chopped at the lid's inside edge with patient little chops till I had cut half way around the can (of salmon) then my friend said he would take over and finish the job. He also finished off the salmon.
The lesson here is "when the electric can opener don't work put the can in the boot till your friends have gone home".
