until you see the whites of their eyes" ... who said that? It was in a film. Maybe even in lots of films.

Ooh, ooh, I know this one. I'm pretty sure it was said by an American during their War of Independence. Gimme a minute

Col William Prescott at the Battle of Bunker Hill. The rebels were short of ammunition.
If the Redcoats had worn Ray-Bans, the USA would still be a colony

Thanks for that - and there's me thinking it was Michael Caine in the film Zulu.

Nah, didn't he say "Will you stop chucking those bloody spears"?
It was a curious example of synchronicity you bringing up the "whites of their eyes" quote, as I was just reading about it the other day

So who said, "Don't shoot ... I'm only the piano player"
SWL; I find synchronicity amazing. One reason I really like it is because it's something that science can't get to grips with.

Wasn't that Elton John?
My wife gets me every time. A few months ago, my parents told me that they had bought her some amber jewellery whilst they were on holiday. In the car on the way there I told her they had brought back a gift. She replied, "Oh, is it amber jewellery?" Nobody had discussed amber with her and my parents were actually a bit concerned as to whether she'd like it.

Yes it was dear old Elt, it googles back to him, but where did he get it from, - maybe it was in an old movie I saw/heard it - sounds a bit like Groucho Marx

Maybe she kind of knew or had the idea there was an amber shop or could have been such a place in the resort?
For me synchronicity is a guy writing a book about a ship called The Titan sinking and everybody drowned and then the real Titanic sinks...that kind of thing for example.
