...how people seem to have such short attentionspans?
(I seem to recall that there's an article about that somewhere on the guide!)
Two months back and everybody - just everybody - swarmed this page and the forums following.
Today? Guess people have moved from lateral thinking and back to not quite thinking at all.
But I haven't forgotten - I still think it's one of the cooles entries in this millennium!

Write down all the possibilties - eliminate that which you know as a fact, not to be true. Whatever is left, must be true, no matter how impossible it seems.

Follow the link to my page, then follow the link on that one to the site for counsel. You may just need it...
Oh, and PLEASE do remember to start your OWN string!
Wailing better yet! Lateral wailing?

That could be too literal for me - I am laterally & illogically, insane - indirectly cause by sanity inverted by reverse psychology. This has turned my world upside down as I walk back to front (This isn't easy, even with a mirror because the reflection gives a lateral view.

I'm glad you liked it - I came across it 12 years ago in a book known as "De Bono's thinking course". I thought it was one of the best books I ever read. I think he has developed a workbook for schoolkids on all of these topics, so you can practice thinking in a classroom setting.
Kids are so much better than us adults at this sort of stuff. I wish I had heard about it much earlier!

Not read that one - I'll put it on my reading list - I have always been a bit of a sideways thinker.
Tried my article at http://www.h2g2.com/A294798 - thats if you are into hypnosis ?

Good, very informative article. I would have been one of those people who thought of it as some kind of pseudo sleep state as well, until I read your entry. Let me get this right - all you need to do to hypnotise yourself is to relax completely and concentrate?
The stuff you write about false memories is fascinating, but also very scary.
Well done. I hope you get it made official.

Thank you - All hypnosis is self enduced and false memories are nothing more than something you imagined at an earlier stage in your life. - Glad you liked it and sorry to scare you it was meant to have the reverse effect.
I actually said nothing about false memories and it was a kind of lateral thought process that lead you to believe I did. Funny how the drift comes back to the original subject . I'll get back to my inverted life style and catch you later

PS - Yep - concentration or focusing your mind on one subject can help you drift into hypnosis but don't expect any mysterious happenings. As I outlined, it is a natural state that you have felt many times in your life.

Sometimes I feel as if I have spent most of my life in a hypnotic state, but there you go....

Have you ever pondered if we are in fact the product of somebody elses dreams?
And if so, have you ever pondered if that somebody needs counsel badly?

I think I am - therefore your not - if it sounds back to front, it's not.
There is no hope for me - perhaps you have a better chance.
Take my advice - dont give or take advice, and that includes the advice I have just given you
