A Conversation for Pasties of Cornwall and Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Just thought for information sake I would add that I discovered to my surprise and delight that they also sell Cornish Pasties in Wisconsin. There is a small town called Mineral Point which has a street called Shake Rag Alley? (If memory permits). This alley has a row of antique cottages formerly inhabited by Cornish tin miners. There is also a restaurant called Pendarvis House which sounds pretty Cornish to me.
I believe that the adoption of the badger as the state animal or legend had something to do with these miners (could be way off here!).
The "Shake Rag" apparently comes from the habit of the miners' wives waving dusters to hail their men folk at meal times. Mind you if they were down the mine how would they see the rag?
