A Conversation for The Buzzards of Hinckley, Ohio, USA

Vultures

Post 1

clzoomer- a bit woobly

Much as most (myself included!) might find it surprising that Ohio has buzzards, the Southern Gulf Islands of BC, Canada where I grew up has vultures:

I suppose it's all those westerns where we saw both birds in the desert.....smiley - erm

Very interesting entry! smiley - ok

Vultures

Post 2

quizzical

I think the buzzard and the (turkey) vulture are the same bird; the pictures sure look alike. These guys seem to be everywhere. Last fall I spotted a couple browsing beside the circle freeway running around my city (always a good spot to find carrion, I suppose smiley - ill).

Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a western: vultures circling, hawks hunting, coyotes on the loose, even a gang of bank robbers hitting the banks - all this inside a large city... smiley - smiley
